News concerning Smythwicks dogs and their owners Smythwicks Guy Smiley placed 3rd in the Central Virginia Puppy stake on September 29, 2011. This was Guy's second field trial. Guy is owned by Bill Fawcett and was handled by Ralph Botti. Jenna's big brother Smythwicks Life of Riley SH (Riley) is pictured on an outing with some friends to Cabelas in Scarborough, Maine. Actually he was helping pro-trainer Jennifer Broome put on some training demonstrations. A good time was had by all. Smythwicks Fireball Pete (Pete) is having a great time warming up for this year's hunting season with a little dove hunting. Owner Chris Drazba says "He's been a great dog that has been a wonderful family dog as well as a ton of fun to work with and take out hunting." Pete is a Shiloh x Jenna pup whelped in 2008. October 24, 2009 Smythwicks .22 Caliber Girl SH (Cali) completed her SH legs at the M-AHSC Hunt Test on October 24, 2009. "Senior Hunter" Cali is owned and handled by Kathy Belcher. Kudo's to Kathy and Cali! May 9, 2009 Smythwicks Shenandoah Breeze SH (Breezy) passed her SH final leg at the Mason Dixon hunt test in Chester Springs, PA, and is now a "Senior Hunter." May 4, 2009 Our sympathies to Ellen MacMillan of Milo, Maine, on the passing of Smythwicks Alder Run Rowan JH. Rowan seemed to epitomize the Smythwicks line in her style and desire to hunt. October 4 & 5, 2008 Smythwicks Shenandoah Breeze JH (Breezy) passed two legs towards her Senior Hunter certification at the M-AHSC hunt tests October 4 and 5, 2008. Breezy was handled by owner Dottie Maslonek. Smythwicks 22 Caliber Girl JH (Cali) passed her final two legs of her Junior Hunter at the M-AHSC hunt tests October 4 and 5, 2008. FC/CFC Flushingwing Dark 'N Dirty (Rummy) placed 3rd in the Open at Northern Minnesota on Septermber 13, 2008, making him a Field Champion. Rummy was handled by owner Greg Miller. Rummy is the sire of Smythwicks Drake of Autumskye. Shiloh's Chief Hellfire (Shiloh) sire of a recent litter out of Smythwicks Bushwacking Jenna SH placed second in the Open at Patriot September 13, 2008, handled by Ralph Botti. Shiloh is owned by Jim Boone. Also at the Patriot trial, Alder Run Mic Dundee (Mic) took the guns award for the Amateur. In Memory Smythwicks Sunny Delight SH 5/1/1996 - 9/21/2011 In Memory Smythwicks Alder Run Rowan JH 1/8/1996 - 5/4/2009 Breezy and Cali at the M-AHSC Hunt Test 10/2008. Cliff Vinke was awarded the Dennis Smith Trophy for the best Amateur Handler at the CCSC Field Trail May 22, 2005. This is a perpetual award which made its debut at the CCSC Spring trial in 2004 in memory of Dennis Smith, the founder of the Smythwick's line. Pictured here with Cliff is his dog Crosswinds Maverick, whom Cliff handled to 3rd place in the Amatuer stake.
